All about Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme: PM-KISAN YOJANA

 

  • Scheme type- Central Sector Scheme 
  • Launch Date- 24th Feb, 2019.
  • The Scheme is implemented by D/o Agriculture and Farmer Welfare.
  • Aim:- Providing financial assistance to cultivable landholding farmer families to enable them to take care of agriculture and allied related expenses as well as domestic needs.
  • Benefit: An amount of Rs. 6000/- is transferred annually in three equal installments of Rs.2000/- directly into the Aadhaar seeded bank accounts of the farmers through DBT.
  • Target Group:- The scheme is applicable only for landholding farmers.  
  • The responsibility to identify the beneficiaries and upload their correct and verified data on PM-KISAN portal lies with the respective State/UT Government. 
  • These data go through various levels of verification and validation including Aadhaar/PFMS/Income Tax database and after verification and validation, the benefit of the Scheme is passed on to eligible beneficiaries. 
  • The number of farmers whose land details are seeded on the PM-KISAN Portal is more than 9.53 crore(As on Apr 8, 2023).
